Norton Ladies 1st VS Newcastle 3s: 1-0
Newcastle 3s were a strong opposing side and they started with a strong defensive formation but Norton held their own. Both teams played the ball quickly around the back and used the transfer across the back as a way to open up the play. A foul against Norton resulted in a short corner and led the team to a 1-0 goal difference, the goal was scored by Kait Newby. Shortly after this our MVP Katie Dent (who is also writing this report) took a dramatic exit off the pitch by passing out on the sidelines. I therefore don’t remember the next 20 mins of the first half so we shall skip this bit but I’m sure both teams played well. Onto the second half, we had lots of possession and the play was largely dominated in our attacking end and we worked the ball up the middle well. All in all we played a fabulous game and it was a great win to start the season with. All the team played amazing but a special shout out to our MOM Gaynor for having an amazing game and dominating the midfield!
