The Saturday Round-up 21/10

The ladies 2’s kicked off the weekend with a running performance against Redcar 2’s. 5-0 up by half time, with 5 different scorers yet again! Score ended 6-0, credit to the 8 players of Redcar who held firm in the second half. its great to see the team improving week on week and they look forward to a rest weekend before playing Stokesley 2’s on the 4th. 

The mens 1’s travelled to Desmond looking for a better performance than previous weeks… and boy did they ever. Despite going 1-0 down after 5 minutes, the team attacked and were 6-1 up at half time. Luke scoring goals for fun took his tally to 3 with a penalty stroke. The team have a cup game against Newcastle 1’s this weekend so we wish them the best of luck. 

The mens 2’s had an end to end encounter with new opposition in Whitley Bay & Tynemouth 3’s. At 2-2 the team looked for 3 points but unfortunately it was the opposition who took their chances. 4-2 scoreline against the team was tough result to take but after a week off they will look to bounce back when they play Newcastle 2’s on the 4th. 

The mens 3’s rounded off the weekend with a fighting display against Stokesley 3’s. with another much changed side knitted together a few days before the game, the experienced players did amazingly well to gel the team together. Stokesley 3’s just had a little more prowess in front of goal and took the 3 points with a 5-1 win.
